From humble beginnings, this is how the Arnel’s Filipino Restaurant rose into Nelson’s favourite dining experience. This is owned by local’s esteemed head chef Arnel Lisondra with the support of family and friends.
Arnel started as a simple, affordable, and exquisitely delicious food cart at the heart of Nelson. Open every Saturday and Sunday, selling mouth-watering Filipino food at the Nelson Weekend Market.
Through dedication, perseverance, and great food, Arnel is now also a restaurant, still located at the heart of Nelson. Whether it’s invoking a sense of nostalgia from fellow Filipinos or introducing new flavors to Kiwi’s, Arnel’s Filipino Restaurant simply aim to give back to the Nelson community by sharing delightful delicacies to everyone, from our family to yours.

A Filipino vegetable stew made of pumpkin, eggplant, green beans, onion, spinach, broccoli and cauliflower in coconut milk and spices served with steamed rice.

Tomato based stew w/ potato, carrots, onion, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, chickpeas and red and green bell pepper served with steamed rice.
